Left on Houston makes superb sweaters. The fibers are soft and cozy, the shapes are modern and sleek, and you’ll never look bulky or slouchy.

This lady is in our window right now, wowing passers-by. Brownstone Cardigan in copper. ($124.00) Cotton, nylon, viscose, cashmere and dehaired angora are blended to make this lusciously soft cardigan that looks great alone all buttoned up or over any number of slim tops. We love the pleats in the bust and the way the sleeves puff out in a not-too-little-girl-ish way.

The Limited Top in purple ($123.00) is lightweight and super flattering. Viscose, polyester, angora and silk keep it delicate and airy. It has a sheer panel that sweeps along the neckline as well as around the cuffs of the sleeves and an elastic hem at the bottom for a cute, subtle bubble effect. There are also great rounded pockets near the side seams. Who doesn’t love pockets on a sweater?

The Hudson Striped sweater ($162.00) is made of cotton, nylon, viscose, cashmere and dehaired angora. This sweater boasts big playful buttons and has slash pockets with buttons to keep your hands toasty warm along with the rest of you. We love the slightly longer length on this sweater to keep all sorts of bits warm through the cold months to come.

The Tunnel Dress ($180.00) is my personal favorite of this shipment. The shape of this dress hugs curves in the most loving way and conceals anything you don’t love quite so much. The length is perfect, not too short, but not too long, great for wearing with tights, leggings or nothing. The floppy tutleneck is super and we love the knit-covered buttons on the low pockets. This is the kind of garment you could wear everywhere and I know I’d sure like to.

Men’s Filippa K

Our favorite minimalist, urban designer from Sweden, Filippa K, has wowed us once again with a small selection of stunning pieces for Fall. As always, the lines of these garments are clean and elegant, the colors understated, and the fabrics are exquisite.

The Fine Stripe Waistcoat is in a gorgeous wool with a trim fit and high buttons. ($275.00) There are very very fine stripes in the wool that unfortunately our camera couldn’t pick up.

The Next item is a beautifully woven cotton scarf with varying gray and tan stripes. ($162.00) Very very sharp with a trenchcoat.

We also have a really modern tweed coat from Filippa K this year. It’s made of excellent quality grey wool and instead of being super trim and fitted like most of the coats we’re seeing this year, this coat has a slightly a-line shape, somewhat like a frock or a swing coat, but obviously far more masculine. ($749.00) The back features a long sharp box pleat and the shoulders are perfectly fitted so as not to look oversized. This is a finely tailored coat, not slouchy or baggy.

Along with the brand new denim that we recieved from House of Cassette, we have also received three amazing garments for Men from this inspiring new company. The boiled wool hoodie is absolutlely beautiful. Handmade European buttons throughout, delicate woven trim, two button front pockets, and soft boiled wool inside and out make this the most stylish hoodie you can purchase this winter! (Only available in Black, $372.00)

The Willy Vee v-neck long sleeve shirt with fabulous woven epaulets, hand made thin sweater knit, and snaps on the sides. Hot! (Only available in Black, $162.00)

The one of a kind contrast uniform shirt which resembles a late 70’s cowboy shirt with one exception. Two plackets that are stitched in below the chest pockets and hang about a half inch from the front seam. Black trim on this grey shirt is phenomenal. ($194.00)

In addition to the fantastic outerwear we have recieved from Nice Collective and Fred Perry, we have also recieved some great jackets and blazers from Spiewak. Not to mention the awesome pieces in the Shades of Greige post below. I suppose it will suffice to say, we have some awesome coats and jackets here we would love to share with you. This post will have the men’s, and the women’s will be soon to follow.

We’ll begin with Spiewak. I. Spiewak and Son’s was a uniform/work wear company that started in 1904. They now make both fashion pieces and continue with making uniforms for law, safety, postal, and industrial uses among others. They are a very stylish and affordable brand.

This beautiful brown coat is made of Moleskin fabric. Moleskin is a twill cotton fabric that is brushed to create a soft nap. This makes the fabric a dream to touch while remaining especially strong for outerwear ($147):

The perfect blend between a blazer and a coat, this Spiewak jacket has style and warmth. It is available in both black and a dark charcoal grey ($162):

The Meade Field Jacket is great for those rainy days in Seattle. It also has great warmth and plenty of pocket room ($133):

This jacket has the same warmth and water resistance as the Meade, but with much different stylings. With the added zippers, you can remove the sleeves to have a vest as well. I love getting two pieces of clothing in one ($201):

Let’s move on to beautiful Nice Collective.

This awesome jacket has a flap in the front that buttons and zips, one on each side. Choose which you’d like to do depending on your mood ($371).

This brown trench has leather trim around the pockets and cuffs. It has a removable lining for ultimate warmth ($518).

Our leather jacket from Nice Collective is beautiful. It has a removable cotton hood, as well as zip-off sleeves. It is a heavy piece of clothing, heavy duty to last through anything you can throw at it ($1148):

And onto the always stylish Fred Perry. His classic styles never go out of fashion.

This Harrington is reversible (again with two pieces in one), and has the most amazing plaid and shades ($338):

This amazing bomber jacket is made of wool and comes in black as well as the pictured grey ($225):

We also have two amazing coats from Ben Sherman this year. The first is a waxed cotton coat with a belted waist and cool neck belt detail ($349):

The next is a military inspired black felted wool blend ($249):

This beautiful trench pea coat is from Fremont, a small company featured in our Fall Preview posts earlier this season ($633):

Hyden Yoo is a new brand we just started carrying this year. He is fairly new to the fashion scene, only 29 years old, but makes some amazing pieces.

This navy blue trench is double breasted and belted for the classic look with an updated color ($371):

And another beautiful coat, this coat has military inspirations without following the same formula ($371):

Check back soon for the women’s edition!

Shades of Greige

Shades of Greige (pronounced “grey” like the color) is a newer brand started by a recent Fashion Institute graduate. The line brings classic, easy-to-wear pieces with subtle updates and details. We are having a love affair with all the new jackets, not to mention the sweaters and pants. See what you think:

First up is a waxed cotton (that’s right, its waterproof) jacket ($187):

Check out the cool zipper detail in the back as well:

In beautiful light grey wool blend, this military inspired jacket is fashion simplicity at its best ($216):

Shades of Greige has also brought us the most amazing pleather we have ever seen ($203):

Another waxed cotton piece, this moto-jacket has great zipper details as well as a zip-off hood ($178):

Mix things up by pairing this rebel’s jacket with some black and white tweed pants ($112):

Check out the sweet button detail on the pockets:

Double-zipping hoodies are huge this year, and Shades of Greige of course did not miss out on this ($147):

This beautiful sweater brings together a classic braided cable with a modern hood ($180):

Last but certainly not least is a beautiful deep-V sweater. It comes in both black and the pictured grey ($122):

Industry for Women

Industry is a company based out of Montreal with amazingly designed pieces. They have grown in popularity mostly from word of mouth. We have just received some awesome pieces, check them out:

First up is a silk top. This beautiful top has a boat neck with a bow on the left side and comes in an amazing shade of yellow: ($88.00)

Next is a knit long sleeve cardigan with two large buttons. Put them together, and here’s what you get: ($111.00)

For the cold weather, we have this adorable A-line jacket with leather trim: ($196.00)

Accessorize these cute pieces with these amazing leather bags: ($221.00)

That’s it for now, keep checking back!

House of Cassette Denim.

House Of Cassette is a brand new denim label set up by Peter James Lee, previously Creative Director for Hudson Jeans. Launching a new jeans brand is a brave move in what is already a dangerously over-populated marketplace, however I think HoC are going to do pretty well for themselves. These jeans may come from LA but they have little in common with most of the other faded, over embellished jeans produced in that part of the world. HoC say they are making jeans for skinny guys and cute girls that like dive bars and the colour black. These are lean, mean jeans which I can see going down well with indie kids.

Pictured below is the Beta Slim Jean in Grey. ($237.00)

And the Beta Selvedge in Raw Navy denim. ($293.00)

Personally these are my favorite new jeans that have come into the store.

Revl Ties

Our new skinny ties from Revl are so awesome. They all have great patterns and hilarious cheeky names that just make us crack up. They’re also the perfect way to dress up and not be too serious, but still look sharp and classy. All Revl ties are only $45.00.

I Got Okay Grades

Staff Sergeant Millbanks (in two military-inspired color combos)

The Baird School Crest (also in two colors)

Cock n’ Candy (two colors)

Kyoto Protocol

1000 Pound Geisha (two colors)

First Pets (two colors) It’s a fish, get it?

Barber stripes

We also have some lovely solids with a textural diagonal stripe

If you’ve been in any time in the last three years at least, you’ve probably seen some gorgeous dress shirts with impressive price tags. Our most beautifully made shirts are by a company in Italy called Xacus and we just can’t get enough of them! They are definitely worth every penny.

As usual, this season’s shipment from Xacus is incredible. The cloth is of the finest quality, the fit is slim and perfect, and the details can’t be beat. Not pictured is a reversible (honestly, it’s so cool) dress shirt that is silver and purple stripes on one side and a dark silver on the other. Pictures just won’t do it justice, this shirt is so ingenious and clever! Truly two beautiful shirts in one.

Look at this sweet collar! ($239)

Love the spread collar and french cuffs on this one. ($267)

The fine stripe of this fabric is just exquisite ($235)

Here’s a fantastic cut with a great pattern. ($255)

This is our slimmest cut with darts in both the front and back. ($239)

As a bonus, this one is from J. Lindeberg, a Swedish company that makes incredible suits and shirts.

This guy buttons up high and tight. ($221)

We have just received some awesome pieces from both Nixon and Android. We’ll begin with the Nixons. First, we have an amazing new casual watch called the Iris for its cool viewing windows. The first number is the hour, the the minute, and in the second window you can see the seconds fly by. Waterproof up to 100 meters ($110).

The Sentry is also now available with a leather band. We have a beautiful all grey version with tiny light green accents. Absolutely beautiful ($140).

That is all for Nixon, but what about those Androids I mentioned??? Oh yes they are here. These watches are some of the most beautiful and well designed watches we have ever seen from Android.

Another massive piece is the Volcano Automatic. This beautiful watch has a metal band and interesting purple face. And did I mention it’s automatic?? No more winding or batteries for you. It is hard to capture the full awesomeness of this watch in a photo, so you may just have to come in and see it for yourself in person, but here is our best attempt ($180):

The Paragon has a textured leather band and matching textured metallic face. It has an awesome date counter across the bottom. Each month you can wait for the exciting moment when it shoots back to the first. It comes in three beautiful colors ($113):

And classy black with white numbers:

The Decoy has a unique black leather band with stitching and sides to match each face ($113). The color combinations are varied enough to match anyone’s personality! This awesome watch also comes with a Chrono option that has different colored faces, rather than different colored numbers ($169).
Grey stitching/sides with white numbers:

Orange:

And red:

Another option for you automatic lovers out there is the Force. This watch has a beautiful leather band with contrast stitching ($203):
